DHAKA: Vidya Balan, who bagged India’s national award and won critical acclaims for her act in the biopic of South Sex siren Silk Smitha, is ready play a Carnatic singer this time.
Sources say that director Rajiv Menon is planning to make a biopic on late Carnatic vocalist MS Subbulakshmi and is interested in casting Vidya Balan in the role, reports reviews.in.88db.com.
The grapevine of the story is that Academy Award winner AR Rahman is said to be the composer for the film.
There is nothing much known about this project and it has yet to receive an official confirmation from the director, actress and the composer on this.
Vidya Balan, who has completed working on ‘Ghanchakkar’ will be moving on to ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ which is currently in pre-production stage.
AR Rahman is busy with a number of projects in hand which includes Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Paani’ and Vasantha Balan’s ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’.
