DHAKA: A passenger bus was torched at Moghbazar in the city on Wednesday evening just a day before hartal called by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
The bus coming from Motijheel was torched in front of the Uttara Bank in the area around 6:00pm.
On information, fire fighters rushed in and doused the fire of the bus.
Witnesses said the miscreants blasted two cocktails and forced to get down the passengers from the bus. Later, they torched the bus and fled the scene, said spot account of the accident.
Tension is prevailing in the area and shops and markets were shut down following the incident.
Assistant Sub-Inspector of Ramna Thana Mosharraf Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
