SYLHET: Jamaat locked into clash with police after staging a protest rally from Port Point to Jail Gate in the city on Monday evening.
Police fired one round of tear shell to disperse the activists. At the time, police also held three Jamaat activists.
Kotwali Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The detained were brought to the thana. The situation is now under control, he added.
However, what cause Jamaat staged the rally for could not be known.
