DHAKA: Pro-BNP and Jamaat teachers’-led white panel Monday won five posts out of the six in the syndicate election of Dhaka University for the term of 2012-14.
Pro-Awami League teachers’ blue panel won one post.
The election started at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at 9:00am and continued till 1:00pm.
DU Treasurer Prof Mizanur Rahman conducted the election where the pro-Awami League Blue panel and pro-BNP White panel contested.
Professor M Lutfar Rahman of Sir PJ Hartog International Hall won in the provost category.
Dr Tasmeri SA Islam of Chemistry Department, Professor Suraiya Parveen of Computer Science and Engineering Department and Assistant Professor Dr Mohammad Moinul Islam Moin of Population Science Department won in the categories of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and lecturer respectively.
