CTO Round Table on Online Security

A round table discussion on "Online Transaction Security"  held at the VIP lounge of National Press Club, Dhaka.CTO Forum Bangladesh, a non-political and non-profitable organization formed with view to exchange views of mutual interest with Technology leaders of our country and emphasized the Security issues in real time Online Business has arranged the discussion.

Kaspersky Lab, world leading provider of security contents and solutions sponsored the event. President of CTO Forum Mr. Tapan Kanti Sarkar gave a presentation on the importance of OLT SECURITY.

He informed that though ICT development in Bangladesh is going very fast but organizations who have not taken required security measures is on high security Risk.  He also informed that CTO Forum is working to create awareness on eBanking security, availability of secured network, vulnerable application software etc.

Ms. Nazneen Sultana, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank highlighted the initiative of Bangladesh Bank in implementing Digital Bangladesh and requested all to take security measure at their end.

Mr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Addl. Secretary, Ministry of ICT said Bangladesh has progressed so far in digitization of eService delivery as per Government`s vision 2021, but security issues still a big concern for us highlighted various project of ICT ministry.

Mr. Prabeer Sarkar CEO of Officextracts and distributor of Kaspersky Lab in Bangladesh gave a presentation on IT security facts, risks and a draft view to the road map on containing the issues in Bangladesh.

Among other distinguished guests at the roundtable discussion was Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar, Director General (Admin), PM`s Office & Project Director, A2I highlighted various project of A2I.  A good number of business and financial ICT experts, academicians both government and private, along with the member CTOs of the forum took part in the discussion.

Mr. Dasgupta Asim Kumar, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Syeeful Islam, Ex. President, DCCI, Mr. Shafquat Haider, Director, FBCCI, Sonia Bashir Kabir, Vice President, BWIT also take part in the discussion and highlighted the importance of Online Transaction Security.

All the participants and the resource persons enjoyed the opportunities to share their experiences and the way to meet the security challenges. They came up with sort of recommendations which would go a long way to develop a vibrant online transaction security model in our industry as per our context.
