SATKHIRA: A local Awami League activist was killed after he was injured in a cocktail blast at Kalarua upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sukur Ali, 56, a resident of Hatunia of the upazila.
Sources said miscreants blasted a cocktail in front of upazila parishad around 1:00pm, leaving Sukur Ali injured seriously.
He was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 6:00pm.
Upazila Awami League joint convener Firoz Ahmed Sapan claimed Sukur was an Awami League activist.
