DHAKA: A three-day film festival, highlighting the sprit of country’s language movement, war of independence and democratic events, will be held at Shaukat Osman Memorial Hall of Central Public Library in Shahbagh from February 20.
The festival, to be organised by Tareque Masud Memorial Trust, will feature the screening of Tareque-Catherine directed films including ‘Muktir Gaan’, ‘Muktir Katha’, ‘Matir Moina’, ‘Runway’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Ekush’.
Commenting on the upcoming festival Tareque’s widow Catherine Masud said that filmmaker Tareque always demanded the punishment of Bangladesh’s war criminals.
The screening of their movies will be the deceased filmmaker’s participation with the ongoing anti-war criminal movement at Shahbagh, she added.
The movies ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Runway’ will be screened at 3:00pm; ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Muktir Gaan’ at 5:00pm and ‘Ekush’ and ‘Matir Moina’ at 7:00pm on February 20.
On the day of Amar Ekushey, 21 February, the organisers will screen ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Muktir Gaan’ at 10:00am; ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Muktir Katha’ at 12:00pm; ‘Ekush’; ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Runway’ at 3:00pm, ‘Ekush’; ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Muktir Gaan’ at 5:00pm and ‘Ekush’ and ‘Matir Moina’ at 7:00pm.
On February 22, ‘Ekush’ and ‘Matir Moina’ will be screened at 3:00pm; ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Muktir Gaan’ at 5:00pm, ‘Ekush’, ‘Noroshundor’ and ‘Runway’ at 7:00pm.
Tickets are priced at taka 50 each.
