DHAKA: The renovation work of Hazrat Shahjajal International Airport was begun on Sunday morning.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Faruk Khan inaugurated the renovation work at 10:30am.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the civil aviation minister said, “The image of the country is involved with the runway of the airport as the foreigners enter Bangladesh through the runway.”
He said, “It will be proved that we can work international standard. We have given ordered so that the renovation work ends without any accident.”
The renovation work will cost Tk 187 crore. Abdul Monem Limited was given responsibility to complete the renovation work.
In 1996, the renovation work of the airport had been conducted.
