21 BCL men charge sheeted

DHAKA: Detective Branch of police submitted charge sheet against 21 activists of Chhatra League unit of Jagannath University in Biswajit killing.

DB police submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court around 11:00am on Tuesday.
Concerned police station GRO of the court Rakib Udddin confirmed it to banglanews.

Of the accused, seven are now detained in jails and 14 other are absconding. Some 60 people were made witnesses in the case.

Earlier on December 9, Biswajit, a 24-year-old and a tailor in profession, was killed in an attack by a group of BCL leaders and activists adjacent to the capital’s Victoria Park in front of Jagannath University.

BCL activists took Biswajit, who came from Shariatpur district, for a pro-blockade activist, witnesses observed following the attack.
