PANCHAGARH: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) killed a Bangladesh national by whipping and stabbing in Tetulia Border of the district.
The body was recovered from the sand-bed of Mohananda River of Indian Haftiagaj Border.
The deceased was identified as Anwarul Islam, 35, son of Nurul, hailed from Holdibari Biswanathpur area under Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon district.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources told banglanews that the Hatiagaj BSF personnel informed BGB as they found a body near sub pillar 7 of 442.
On information, Tetulia BGB Company Sadar Subedar Shahjahan along with the locals rushed to the spot and tried to identify the deceased but failed.
Later, Kamal, cousin of the deceased identified the body.Kamal said he came there for finding his cousin.
Meanwhile, the witness told banglanews, on Sunday night, Anwarul went India along with some cattle traders. The BSF personnel held him at the dawn. Later, they killed him by whipping and stabbing.
BSF personnel threw the body into the river after killing, witness added.
The BSF personnel handed over the body to BGB at the noon.
