DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday said the government is taking various techniques to hide all wrongdoings as people are trying to escape from its claw.
“There will be no benefit to do plot. The next election must be held under the supervision of caretaker government. Stop politics in the name of war criminals judgment,” he said.
The former minister came up with the statement while addressing at a protest rally demanding restoration of caretaker government at in front of party’s Nayapaltan office in the city.
Mosharraf said, “The government has formed the tribunal. All prosecutors and judges appointed by it. The verdict was delivered by the judges.”
He added: “So, we can say that the government is staging drama over war crime trials and people have rejected it.”
With City BNP convener Sadek Hossain Khoka in the chair, the programme was addressed, among others, by BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, JCD president Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel and Mahila Dal secretary Shirin Sultana
