DHAKA: The protest demonstration arranged by opposition BNP has begun with the presence a few number of leaders and activists in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
BNP along with alliances are staging the demonstration demanding Elias Ali back and withdrawal of all false cases filed against the leaders, activists of BNP-led 18-party alliance.
The leaders and activists of BNP and its front organizations are joining the demo with small processions to make the demonstration a success.
Earlier, BNP observed countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal for two consecutive days in protest of Elias Ali missing, which marked scattered incidents of violence, vehicle damage and arrests in the capital as well as across the country.
The vandalism, arson and cocktail blasts took place at different parts of the capital and elsewhere in the country during the hartal hours.
On April 17, BNP Organizing Secretary of Sylhet Division and former MP M Elias Ali went missing along with his driver.
Later, police recovered Elias’s abandoned private car and the mobile phone of his driver in front of Mohakhali South Point School and College.
Later, BNP led 18-party alliance called countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal.
