BAGHAICHARI, RANGAMATI: A person sustained bullet injuries as a criminal shot him in Chowmohani area of the district on Wednesday.
The injured were identified as----Bipin Chakma, 51, son of Rikta Ranjan Chakma.
Witnesses told banglanews a criminal shot Bipin Chakma while he was sitting in Chowmohani area.
Meanwhile, Rafiq received injury in his eardrums due to the sound of firing.
Sources said Bipin is taking treatment in Khagrachari Sadar Hospital while Rafiq was admitted to Baghaichari Sadar Hospital.
On the other hand, Marisya Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Shahdat Alam PSC, Baghaichari Upazila Parishad Chairman Shudarshan Chakman and Municipal Mayor Md Alamgir Hossain visited the spot soon after the incident.
Besides, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police personnel were deployed in the area to avoid untoward situations.
Baghaichari Police Station OC Md Rafiq Ullah said, “The case is under process and evidence related to the matter has been collected.”
