DHAKA: The 2-day international conference ‘Global INET-2012’, filled with thought-provoking discussions and incredible networking, ended Tuesday at Geneva, Switzerland.
Director General, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Mr. Francis Gurry, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist, Google Vint Cerf and Leader of Mozilla Project Ms. Mitchell Baker presented the keynote the closing ceremony.
The speakers at the programme discussed over various topics in four sessions including- Digital Content, Intellectual Property and Innovation, Harnessing the Internet for Economic Transformation, Managing Your Digital Footprint: Privacy in the Internet age and Game Changers: Where will they take us by 2032.
Global INET concluded with a final plenary featuring special keynote from industry pioneers.
Ms. Mitchell Baker shared her insight and vision for the future Internet.
Mr. Francis Gurry provided a deeper understanding of the intersecting challenges of intellectual property regulations and Internet innovation.
And finally, Mr. Vint Cerf delivered the final address of Global INET, closing out our conference with an inspirational and forward thinking message.
Hundreds of policy makers, technologists, government representatives and business executives discussed the positive impacts of the Internet, past, present and future.
Internet Society President, also CEO Lynn St. Amour was awarded with lifetime honor for the first time for his contribution in internet.
