BNP’s nationwide hartal observed

DHAKA: The countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal, called by opposition BNP protesting “genocide” and government’s misrule, corruption, and repression, was observed Tuesday amid stray incidents.

At least 92 people were injured in sporadic incidents during the countrywide hartal while law enforcers held over 35 hartal supporters from different parts of the country including the capital.

In the latest development, the party declared to stage demonstrations in all upazilas, districts and metropolitan cities protesting arrest and government torture on BNP activists during Tuesday’s hartal.
