Bourses see loss at opening

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – are witnessing loss in share price indices at the opening hours on Monday (August 8), the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 2.29 points or 0.05 percent to stand at 4566.13 points at 11:55am.

Trade deals stood at 47,722 with transaction at over Tk 1876.96 million. Of the issues traded, 115 advanced, 107 declined and 72 remained unchanged till then.

CVO Petrochemical Refinery Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 101.05 million having changed hands so far.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 5.08 points to stand at 8547.18 points at 11:52am.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 80 gained, 61 declined and 41 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 85.29 million.
