Don’t isolate me from people on security reasons: PM

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the members of Special Security Force (SSF) not to keep her away from the people while giving security.

She said: “They (common people) are everything. We get strength and inspiration from them. You should remember it.”

Sheikh Hasina was addressing at a program marking the 31st founding anniversary of SSF Saturday (July 15).

“We do politics accompanied with the peoples of the country. Fish cannot survive without water…. Like fish, we also face same consequence if separated from the peoples.”

“There is no meaning of staying alive, if we can’t stay with people and look after them”, she said.

“So, I like to ask SSF not to create distance with people while ensuring security,” the premier also added.

Sheikh Hasina said, “We do work for sake of the people. I know when the security is required. Regarding security, I want to say that I never care about myself.”

SSF Director Major Gen M Shafiqur Rahman delivered the welcome speech at the program held at Shapla Hall of Prime Minsiter’s Office (PMO).

PM’s Security Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and Chief Secretary Dr Kamal Naser Chowdhury were among others attended the program.
