SAVAR: A private university student was chopped to death by miscreants in Islampur area here on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Ashraful Alam, 22, a second-year student of Daffodil International University, hailed from Khulna district.

Deceased friends said that Ashraful and some other students were used to live at a rented flat near Jahangirnagar University.

The victim’s roommate Kazi Saif Imtiaz told banglanews two miscreants entered their flat while Ashraful was talking with his friends.

The miscreants took him out of the flat and chopped mercilessly, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Additional Police Superintendent of Dhaka Kazi Ashraful Azim said that he might have been killed due to previous enmity.
