TANGAIL: Two children drowned in a puddle in Deola area of Tangail municipality on Wednesday (May 17).

The deceased were identified as Amanullah Saikat, 11, son of one Ataullah and Nahid Al Nur, 10, son of one Shahinur Rahman. They were cousins and visiting their uncle’s home in Deola area.

Tangail thana sub-inspector (SI) Salauddin told Banglanews that the kids were missing from Tuesday morning. Their floating bodies were found in a local pond on Wednesday noon.

On information police recovered the bodies and sent them to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsies. Initially it is believed that the duo was drowned in water, he added.
