DHAKA: Three brothers drowned while bathing in a canal in Hasnabad area at Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka on Friday noon (May 26).

The deceased were identified Mohammad Hossain and his brother Mohammad Ibraim, son of one Manir Hossain, hailed from Noyadda area of Keraniganj and their cousin Hridoy Hossain, 18, son of one Abdus Salam, hailed from Gobindapur area of Shanir Akhra in Jatrabari.

Hridoy was a student of 11th class at Dania College.

Deceased’s uncle Al Amin said Hridoy went to his grandmothers house in Keraniganj on Thursday (May 25). The incident took place around 12:00 pm Friday as he went for a bath in a local canal with cousins and friends. 

Later he was rushed Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead. The other two bodies were recovered later.

DMCH police outpost additional SI Babul Mia told Banglanews that Hridoy’s body was kept in hospital morgue.
