BARISAL: Three children, including two siblings, drowned in a pond at Uttar Rajarchar village in sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday (June 20).

The deceased were identified as Hafiza, 7, her younger sister Hafsa, 5, daughters of one Abdul Baten from Fakirbari area of the village and Urmi, 7, daughter of one Mizammel Huzur from the same area.

Union Parishad Member Mohammad Siqqikur Rahman told Banglanews that the trio fell in the pond unnoticed while playing around the bank. After a long search, their bodies were recovered and rushed to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital where on-duty physician declared them dead.
