DHAKA: After launching app-based private-car taxi service in Dhaka, the US-based company Uber now decided to launch motorcycle based service “Ubermoto” using the same app.

The company has already started to register motorbikes and drivers for this purpose and will soon announce the opening of Ubermoto. 

Earlier in February this year, Uber launched motorbike service in India’s Hyderabad city and in Bengaluru city in the next month. Uber is also conducting ‘Motorcycle taxi service’ in Bangkok from February last year.

Earlier in December, Uber started its private car taxi service in Dhaka. However, Uber faced no competition back then but the situation is different now as several others domestic companies are operating motorcycle ride sharing apps in the capital. 

As always, Uber will provide some lucrative offers for commuters in the beginning of this new service. They are hopeful that commuters and drivers will equally benefit from this service.

The first motorcycle ride sharing apps of Bangladesh is ‘Sam’ followed by Pathao, Amar Ride and few others. Sam will expand its operation in Dhaka from next week. These apps are very popular among city dwellers.

However, Uber has not announced any official launch program about their new service or posted any information in their website or even Facebook page.
