DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid asked physicians not to prescribe the patients for doing unnecessary medical tests as many patients have no ability to bear the costs.
“Many patients are being harassed in the name of treatment . . . A section of physicians prescribe the patients for doing unnecessary tests,” he said.
The president was addressing the 29th Annual Conference and International Scientific Seminar-2018 organized by Association of Physicians of Bangladesh (APB) at a city hotel Saturday afternoon (March 31).
Referring to media reports, he said in some cases it is seen that people become the worst victims of wrong treatment or negligence of the physicians, tarnishing the reputation of the doctors and respective institutions. “You must be aware of this (wrong treatment),” the President added.
