3 ‘drug dealers’ killed in ‘shootout’ with RAB in Dhaka

DHAKA: Three suspected drug dealers were killed in a reported shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in Bhasantek area of Dhaka early Wednesday (May 30).

The deceased were identified as Ataur Rahman Ata, 46, Bappy, 38, and Mostofa Haoladar alias Koshai Mostofa, 50.

RAB-4 Commander Chowdhury Monjur Kabir told Banglanews that a drive was carried out at a house in Lohar Bridge area of Bhasantek, on information that drug dealers were staying there, at the night.

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the drug dealers opened fire at them.

RAB fired back, in retaliation.  

At one stage, three of the drug dealers including Ata were found dead.

However, two pistols and huge yaba pills were recovered from the spot, said the RAB official.
