Bourses end week with fall

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Thursday (March 2), the final day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 10.47 points or 0.10 percent to stand at 5586.74 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 135,192 with the transaction over Tk 8304.43 million. Of the issues traded, 96 advanced, 189 declined and 44 remained unchanged.

LankaBangla Finance Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 534.41 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 33.01 points to stand at 10492.47 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 81 gained, 147 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 427.21 million.
