Bourses see inflation after 5-day

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Tuesday (April 25), the third session of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 33.83 points or 0.62 percent to stand at 5469.46 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 94,162 with the transaction over Tk 5003.87 million. Of the issues traded, 173 advanced, 105 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 381.42 million having changed on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 72.65 points to stand at 10273.01 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 141 gained, 74 declined and 18 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 350.67 million.
