Bangladesh, Saudi sign 2 agreements, 4 MoUs  The instruments are being signed at PMO

DHAKA:  Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia signed two agreements and four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on Thursday (March 7).

The deals were signed during a ceremony with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the capital.

The visiting Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment Dr Majid Bin Abdullah al Qosaibi and Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed Bin Mazyed Al-Tawijri were, among the Saudi delegation, present at the event.

A deal was signed between Alfanar Company of Saudi Arabia and Electric Generation Company Bangladesh Limited on construction of 100 megawatt Solar IPP.   

Another one was accorded between the General Electric Manufacturing Company of Bangladesh and Engineering Dimension of Saudi Arabia on manufacturing of transformers and electricity devises.

The four signed MoUs are as follows- 

1. Between BMET of Bangladesh and Al Maml Trading Estate of Saudi Arabia on manpower export

2. Between Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation and Yusuf Al Raji Construction on setting up a Urea Formaldehyde-85 plant in Bangladesh. 

3. Between Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) and Al Afaliq Group of Saudi Arabia on establishing Saudi-Bangladesh Biomedical Engineering and Technology.

4. Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation and Riyadh Cable Group of Saudi Arabia signed an MoU on producing cable.

PM’s press secretary Ihsanul karim briefed media.

Ministers, advisers to the prime minister and senior officials of the different ministries were present at the signing ceremony.
