DSE, CSE edge up in early trading

DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain in early trading on Sunday (Mar 10), as the enthusiastic investors remain active.

Within first two hours of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 21.23 points up while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 5.60 points.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 21.23 points or 0.37 percent to 5,709.69 points at 12:28 pm.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 4.88 points or 0.37 percent to reach at 1,307.92 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.61 points or 0.38 percent to stand at 1,997.94 points.

Turnover stands at Tk 2,172.62 million on the DSE at 11:38 am, riding on IFAD Autos and National Tubes.

Monno Ceramic Industries Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 164.06 million changing hands till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 219 advanced, 78 declined and 42 issues remained unchanged.

However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 5.60 points to stand at 1,275 also at 12:24 pm.

Of the issues traded till then, 105 gained, 43 declined and 23 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 86.25 million.
