DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early hour of trading on Thursday (May 9) as enthusiastic investors are on buying spree. 

After first one hour of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 14.56 points or 0.27 percent to 5,286.95 at 11:55 am. 

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 5.37 points or 0.44 percent to stand at 1223.36.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 0.27 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 1,858.32 points.

Trade deals stood at 47,630 with volume of transactions at Tk 1,885 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 204 advanced, 74 declined and 54 remained unchanged.

Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 113.23 million changing hands till then followed by Esquire Knit and Fortune Shoes.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed upward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index gaining 10.22 points or 0.06 percent to 1,6220 also at 11:55 am.

Of the 138 issues traded till then, 81 gained, 46 declined and 11 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 85.94 million.
