BRAHMANBARIA: Miscreants out of sheer enmity mixed poison into three ponds in Ashuganj upazila of the district, thereby killing fishes worth Taka 70 lakh, according to the claim of the owner of fisheries.

Sacchu Miah, owner of fisheries, said Miscreants mixed poison into his three ponds when Isha prayer was going on Wednesday evening (May 7). The matter became noticeable on Thursday morning. 

Demanding justice, Sacchu Miah put the blame on people from the rival groups as conflict took place recently during upazila election. 

“Police were dispatched to the spot. Upon submission of a written complaint, steps will be taken after investigation,” Masud Alam, officer-in-charge of Ashuganj police station, told Banglanews.
