NAOGAON: The farmers in Naogaon district have staged agitation on Sunday (May 12) over low price of Boro paddy.

In front of Dhamoirhat upazila parishad, they formed a human chain under the banner of 'Manab Seba', demanding fare price of paddy.

Residents of the area also expressed solidarity with the protesters by taking part in the human chain around 11:30am.

The agitated farmers said they are counting loss Tk 300-400 per maund of paddy. 

They are unable to collect even the cultivation cost, they said.

Dhamoirhat Municipality Councillor Muqtadirul Huq, among others, attended the human chain. 

The speakers demanded the paddy price must be increased as per the price fixed by the government and administrative surveilance in the markets.
