DHAKA: The prices of most of the shares on bourses saw positive trend at the middle of day’s trading on Thursday (June 27) as some investors showed their buying appetite on sector-wise issues.

Following the previous two days’ gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend amid bullish trading activities.

After three hours of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 24 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 76.80 Points.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 24.75 points or 0.45 per cent to reach at 5,435.45 points at 1:36pm.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 11.62 points or 0.60 percent to reach at 1923.18 points till then. 

The DSE Shariah Index also rose 4.29 points or 0.34 percent to stand at 1246 points.

Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 3298.80 million on DSE when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded till then, 174 advanced, 119 declined and 58 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth Tk 175.80 million changing hands, closely followed by United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd and Runner Automobiles Ltd. 

The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Share Price Index- CASPI-gaining 76.80 points to stand at 16,638 points, also at 1:29pm.

Of the 236 issues traded till then, 124 gained, 74 declined and 38 issues remained unchanged with Tk 153.88 million in turnover.
