DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank has ordered the concerned branches of all scheduled banks to remain open on Saturday (June 29) in order to facilitate the submission of income tax, VAT and customs duties. 

A circular has been sent to the chief executive officers of the scheduled banks from the central bank on Thursday (June 27).

According to the circular, the concerned branches of all scheduled banks have been to keep open all the banks at district and upazila levels on Saturday (June 29) in order to provide check / invoices / pay order/ demand draft services to the taxpayers and also to deposit income tax, VAT and customs duty by taxpayers.

Instructions have also been given for proper action to ensure adequate security.
