DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - is underway with downward trends of share-price indices on Tuesday (July 9).

Within first one and a half hour of the day’s trading, the benchmark index of the DSE went down by 2.68 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 13.84 points.

DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 2.68 points or 0.05 percent to stand at 5315.92 at 12:32pm. 

The two other indices also edged lower.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 1.71 points or 0.14 percent to stand at 1214.52points. 

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips declined 1.84 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 1884.31 points.

Trade deals stood at 61370 shares to stand at Tk 2638.34 million on the DSE, riding on Fortune Shoes and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.

Of the issues traded, 155 advanced, 146 declined and 47 remained unchanged.

Asian Tiger Sandhani Life Growth topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 133.07 million having changed hands followed Runner automobiles and JMI Syringes and Medical Services.
 
Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed down to 16,276.69 by losing over 13.84 points or 0.08 percent at about 12:31pm. 

Out of 201 issues traded, 85 gained, 92 declined and 24 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 59.89 million.
