Two workers were killed after a truck hit another stationary truck on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Boilar Bazar in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Milon Mia, 24, who was a van driver. 

However, the identity of the helper of a truck driver could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Trishal Police Station Moin confirmed the matter. 

He said the Dhaka-bound truck hit the stationary truck from behind and fell onto a rickshaw van, leaving two people dead on the spot. 

He further said that the bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. 

“However, the driver of the truck fled the scene immediately after the accident. Legal action is under process in this connection,” OC said.
