A court in Dhaka has issued an arrest warrant against a teacher of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), after accepting charges against him.
The accused teacher is Professor Dr Nikhil Ranjan Dhar.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Shahidul Islam issued the arrest warrant accepting a supplementary chargesheet on Sunday (Feb 5).
The arrest warrant has been issued in a case filed over bank recruitment test questions leak in November 2021.
Ranap Kumar, general registration officer of Badda police station, confirmed the matter.
Earlier on January 31 last, investigation officer (IO) of the case and detective branch's sub-inspector Shamim Ahmed submitted a supplementary chargesheet to the Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court. The IO had shown Nikhil Dhar as 'absconding' in the chargesheet and pleaded to the court to issue an arrest warrant against him as he did not sought bail from any court.
On November 10 last year, the same IO submitted a charge sheet, relieving Prof Nikhil as an accused from the case.
Earlier, Professor Nikhil Ranjan Dhar was also relieved of his post of the head of the Industrial and Production Engineering Department
