Manpower export to Iraq resumes

DHAKA: After about two and a half months interval workers’ migration to Iraq has resumed on Wednesday morning with leaving Dhaka by thirteen workers for that country.

Expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain told media on the day.

Thirteen workers have left the country for Iraq in the morning. They will work at Hanwa company, the minister said.

He further said that more 1,400 workers are expecting to go to Iraq by a week. Security at their workplaces has been ensured.

According to the minister, there is no conflict in those places where Bangladeshi workers are expecting to go.

However, some workers were scheduled to go to Iraq on June 15. Four recruiting agencies worked to send them. But the ongoing conflicts in Iraq compelled them to restrain.
