RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ: Two people were killed and four others sustained injuries when a truck hit a human hauler in Golakandail area in the upazila on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Kabir Hossain, 28, son of Abdul Hamid of Kanchan municipality and Ismail Hossain, 24, son of Abdul Karim.

Of the injured, Arif Hossian, driver of the human hauler, was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. 

Bhulta police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Robiul Islam said a shallow engine-run human hauler, locally known as Nasimon, overturned after being hit by a truck on Asian Highway (bypass) around 11:30am, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured.

With the help of locals, police seized the truck and detained its driver and helper, he added.
