RANGPUR: Police arrested 68 leaders-activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, including accused of constable Mojahar murder case, for their alleged involvement in sabotages, vandalism, arson attacks.

The anti-sabotage drives were carried out in different upazilas of the district between Friday night and 10:00am Saturday, said Shariful Islam, officer of Rangpur Detective Branch of police. 

After interrogation in police custody, the arrestees, including fugitive accused Jamaat leader Faruk, were produced before the district court where the judge sent them to jail, he added.

 On February 28, 2013, Jamaat-Shibir men hacked police constable Mojahar Ali of Pirghachha Thana to death in the upazila during violence centering Delawar Hossain Sayedee verdict.
