SYLHET: Five people, including four of a family, were killed and another injured as a bus rammed a private car on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Boraya Chanpur in Osmaninagar upazila on Friday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sylhet (Tamabil) Highway Police confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said the Cumilla-bound bus of ‘Cumilla Transport’ hit the Sylhet-bound private car around 5:30am, leaving five people, including the car driver, dead on the spot and injured one.
 
On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.

The injured was taken to a local hospital.
