Global coronavirus cases pass 18m, deaths top 688,000

 

More than 18 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while more than 11 million have recovered and more than 688,000 have died, according to data from the worldometer on Sunday (Aug 2).

The coronavirus death toll has reached 688,974 as 18,026,303 people have been infected worldwide till 12:30pm (Bangladesh Time). 

Besides, a total of 11,334,694 people have recovered worldwide from the disease.

A total of 213 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 47,64,318 people have been infected with the disease. Of them, 157,898 people have died and 2,362,903 people have recovered. Active cases are 2,243,517.

In Brazil, 2,708,876 people have been infected with coronavirus. Of them, 93,616 patients have died and 1,884,051 recovered.

In Mexico, 434,193 people have been affected with coronavirus. Of them, 47,472 died and 284,847 recovered from the disease.

In UK, 303,952 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 46,193 patients have died.

In India, 1,754,117 people have been affected with coronavirus. Of them, 37,415 people have died and 1,148,103 people have recovered from the disease.

In Italy, 247,832 people have been infected in the disease. Of them, 35,146 people have died and 200,229 people have recovered. 

In France, 1,87,919 people have been infected with the disease. Of them, 30,265 patients have died and 81,500 patients have recovered.

In Spain, 335,602 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 28,445 have died in the country. 

In Peru, 422,183 people have been infected in the disease. Of them, 19,408 have died and 290,835 have recovered.

In Iran, 306,752 people have been infected with coronavirus. Of them, 16,982 patients have died and 265,830 patients have recovered. 

In Russia, 845,443 people have been infected in the disease. Of them, 14,058 have died and 646,524 have recovered.

In Belgium, 69,402 people have been affected with coronavirus. Of them, 9,845 people have died and 17,573 people have recovered from the disease.

In Colombia, 306,181 people have been affected with coronavirus. Of them, 10,330 people have died and 160,708 people have recovered from the disease.

In Chile, 357,658 people have been affected with coronavirus. Of them, 9,533 people have died and 330,507 people have recovered from the disease.

In Germany, 211,077 people have been affected with Covid-19 disease. Of them, 9,226 patients have died and 1,93,600 people have recovered.

In Canada, 116,599 people have been infected from the disease. Of them, 8,941 people have died and 101,436 have recovered.

In South Africa, 503,290 people have been infected from the disease. Of them, 8,153 people have died and 342,461 have recovered.

In China, 84,385 people have been infected in the disease. Of them, 4,634 people have died and 79,003 have recovered. Active cases are 748.

In Bangladesh, 239,860 people have been infected with coronavirus. Of them, 3,132 people died and 136,253 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
