All the overhead wires across Dhaka city will be removed within a year, putting an end to conventional wired over-the-top electric poles.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam disclosed the matter while conducting a drive to remove hanging electrical wires from different places in Gulshan-2 area on Thursday morning.

He said Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB) and Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) Operators- all are responsible for the overhead wires across the capital.
