A woman and her daughter were killed and 10 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Lalpur upazila of Natore on Monday morning.

The accident took place on Natore-Pabna highway in Godhra area around 10:00 am. 

The deceased are- Josna Begum, 50, wife of Abdul Mannan and their daughter Rojina Khatun,32, hailing from Naraikhali village in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna.

Baraigram Banpara Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khandakar Shafiqul Islam confirmed the news. 

He said a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus of ‘Chanchal Paribahan’ from Pabna fell into the roadside ditch after its driver lost control over steering, leaving Josna dead on the spot and several others injured including her husband and daughter.

Later, Rojina died later after being taken to Banpara Patwari Clinic. The injured persons were admitted to different hospitals in the area, the OC added.
