Bangladeshi student killed in Germany road accident

A Bangladeshi student was killed in a road accident in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt state on Saturday night.

The incident took place at Halle city around 10:45 pm local time.

The deceased was identified as Sifatul Islam Sifat, 25, son of Abdul Matin from Basabo of Sabujbagh in Dhaka.

He was a student of Renewable Energy Department at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

According to local police, the accident took place when a freight lorry rammed the private car carrying Sifat and three of his co-workers while they were returning home from work. Sifat died on the spot while the other three were injured. 

However, their injuries are not serious, said police and hospital authorities. 

The process to send Sifat's body to Dhaka is underway, said police.
