A thick blanket of fog engulfed the country on Monday, causing sufferings to thousands of passengers.

Road and river transports were also facing serious disruption in different parts of the country due to dense fog. The vehicles were seen moving at a snail's speed in the morning hours due to low visibility.

Sources in Tangail and Savar said that the fog has created obstacles to smooth vehicular movements on Dhaka -Tangail and Savar-Ashulia highways.

Thousands of vehicles, including passenger buses and goods-laden trucks, were seen moving slowly keeping their headlights on during daytime due to low visibility.
