Two youths were killed as a covered van hit the motorbike they were riding in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj on early Sunday. 

The deceased were identified as- Md Nahid Ullah, 26, and Mohiuddin Polash, 27.

According to family sources, Nahid was a master's student of Mohammad Central College. He was travelling to Rangamati from Dhaka with friends. Nahid and five of his friends were riding on three motorcycles when accident occurred.  

Gazaria Bhaberchar highway police outpost in-charge Md Salahuddin said the accident took place on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Bhaberchar College Road area around 1:00 am when the covered van rammed the bike, leaving the rider and the pillion dead on the spot. 

Dense fog on the highway might the reason behind the accident. Police detained the covered van driver but the helper managed to escape the scene. The bodies are kept under police custody, he added.
