Shahed Ali Ershad, senior correspondent of banglanews24.com, has received the AmCham Frontline Journalism Award for outstanding contribution in reporting during the coronavirus pandemic.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) nominated Shahed for his report titled 'Gorur hate o hocche digital lenden' published on the country's leading online news portal on July 30 last year.
A total of 30 journalists and one photojournalist of different online, print and electronic media outlets of the country have been selected for the award for their courageous and frantic efforts in publishing reports during the Covid-19 pandemic.
AmCham announced the names of the award recipients at a virtual program held around 3:00 pm on Sunday. Foreign Minister D AK Abdul Momen joined the program as chief guest.
US ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Robert Miller, AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed, Vice-President Syed Mohammad Kamal, and awarded journalists also attended the program.
