A Khulna court on Sunday awarded life term imprisonment to five people in a case filed over the murder of a man in Khulna.

Judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court Md Yarab Hossain delivered the verdict in presence of the accused at 11:30 am.

The convicts are-- Mamun Gazi, Mosharraf Hossain, Nuru Rahman, Sheikh Sajidur Rahman and Sheikh Motiar Rahman.

The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, six more months jail sentence.

According to the case statement, the convicts hacked Akbar Ali to death following a land dispute in Koira upazila on July 26, 2013.

Rabiul Islam, son of the victim, filed a case accusing six people in this connection. On of the accused died during the trial.
