A case has been filed against 8 people, including former superintendent of police Babul Akter, over killing of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu in Chattogram.
Victim's father Mosharraf Hossain filed the case with Panchlaish Police Station on Wednesday noon.
Later, Babul Akter was shown arrested in the new case.
Earlier in the morning, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted charge sheet in a case filed in connection with the murder of Babul Akter’s wife in 2016.
PBI Chief DIG Banaj Kumar Majumder said in a press briefing in Dhaka that.
“The PBI has found evidence that Babul Akter was involved in the murder of Mitu,” PBI chief Banaj Kumar Majumder said at a press conference at the PBI headquarters in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi on Wednesday.
Two friends of Babul Akter gave statement under Section 164, DIG Majumder added.
Mitu was hacked and shot dead near the GEC Intersection in Chattogram on the morning of Jun 5, 2016, while she was taking her son to school.
