Khulna division registered 40 deaths in a 24-hour span till Sunday (Aug 1) morning.

With this, the Covid death toll reached 2,428 in the division. 

Of them, 16 died in Kushtia, seven in Jashore, five each in Khulna and Jhenaidah, three in Bagerhat, and two in Chuadanga and Narail each.

Health director's office confirmed the matter to media.

Besides, 880 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the number of total caseloads to 93,812 in the division.

A total of 70,095 people recovered so far. 

Khulna reported its first Coronavirus case on March 19 last year.
